Farm to Chef pairs local Chefs and Farmers to create a unique dish for the

300+ guests who attend.  Farm to Chef is in it’s fourth year and is so excited to see

this event grow in popularity each year! Last year, Farm to Chef was able to raise over

$25,000 for Days of Taste, an American Institute of Wine & Food (AIWF) program that brings together farmers, chefs and community volunteers to introduce school children to the importance of fresh food and its journey from farm to table.

This year Prosperity Acres, LLC of Sunderland owned by Mary Bowen was the local producer providing goat meat that was paired with Chef Kevin Miller of Copper Kitchen, Baltimore.  Chef Kevin created a mouth watering dish of Exotic Braised Goat Ravioli, Rutabaga Mousseline, Pistachio-Sage Brown Butter Grilled Goat Tenderloin, Quick Braised Fall Greens, Goat Bordelaise Goat Tartare, Meyer Lemon, Crispy Caper Berries to win First Place in the Savory division according to Farm to Chef release.

Copper Kitchen’s co-owner and Chef Kevin Miller has established an impressive career in the kitchen over the last 23 years. Studying at the acclaimed Moulin de Mougins in France under Roger Verge. As the Executive Chef aboard Amway Corporation’s motor yacht Enterprise V, he had the opportunity to cook for distinguished guests including former President Gerald Ford and his wife and former Vice President Dan Quayle. Once back in Baltimore, he was the Executive Chef at Ixia for eight years where his modern American cuisine consistently won accolades from Baltimore media. In November 2009, Kevin joined forces with Jennifer DeVos as a private chef to the clients of Widespread Concierge. His talent in the kitchen created more demand for private parties, cooking classes, and full-scale events. This demand inspired the beginning of Copper Kitchen.

Prosperity Acres, LLC is a family run operation that raises natural Goat meat and Beef on their farm in Sunderland.  This is the second year that Prosperity Acres has been paired with a local chef for the Farm to Chef competition.  In 2012 they were paired with Chef Greg Rhoades of Chef’s Expressions with a coriander beef brisket.  For more information about Farm to Chef you may find information on their website at http://www.farmtochefmd.com
